Description: C+ TEST - What are Pony Club Tests?
The Pony Club Training structure encourages members to take tests which enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding.
Meynell are hosting training for our members to prepare and train towards the C+ Test Horse & Pony Care.
The following C+ Test Care sessions are themed & NO pony is needed for the Pony Care sessions.
Attendees should come dressed appropriately for the time of year, boots, hats and gloves as the theory sessions may involve handling horses.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have passed their C Test before undertaking the C+ test training.
Minimum age 13 years for C+ Test

DESCRIPTION
In 2024 the new syllabus was created including covering spurs which we will cover during the training sessions. The C+ Test can be taken in two sections, Part 1 Riding (Jumping 80cm) and Part 2 Horse Care. https://pcuk.org/tests/
SYLLABUS
The syllabus covers Safety, Welfare Responsibilities, Training Ponies, Flatwork, Jumping to 80cm, understanding of learning theory and equine behaviour, Scale of Training, positive reinforcement theory, riding in a correct, supple, balanced position etc.
The Test training help members learn and develop their skills and knowledge about riding and caring for horses and ponies.
Cost for the care training cohort (6 sessions) is a total of £85 (saving £55) and £10 for the Mock Test
(Individual sessions will cost £20 for the 1.5 hour session if spaces are available in 2025.) If fully booked, please book on the WAITING LIST.
